The surrounding area
and activities
The location of Mas Moreta, surrounded by fields and woods, is an open invitation to any visitor to enjoy the peace and quiet of this wonderful natural landscape. Walking routes of various distances are open to visitors, one such route leads to St. Jaume de Frontanya, following the G.R (national walkway) by way of the upper valley of the River Merles. This river, which crosses the land of Mas Moreta there are various gorges, and according to local legend one of them, the rocks of the "Gorc de cara de boc", ("The Goat's Face Gorge") were used to construct the Romanic church of St. Jaume de Frontanya. In summer the river is a popular place to go for a swim and cool off. Autumn is an ideal time to go and look for the wide variety of mushrooms and the prized species of edible fungi which grow in the area. In winter our close proximity to the 3 most important Catalan ski resorts, La Molina, The Valley of Nuria and Vallter 2000 makes skiing so much easier. All types of mountain activity can be booked through Mas Moreta by making your arrangements with the adventure sports companies which operate in the region.
